I'm going on a 3-month adventure around Asia. Planned desinations will be (in order)

Korea
Japan
Hong Kong
Thailand stop killing each other, please!

But there are so many other places I may wind up... (hopefully not jail or dead).

I am using this space as a blog, and as a way to dump the dailies I take from my camera (Panasonic GH1 and Samsung TL320). I want those who are interested to get a daily-updated, unfiltered view of my crazy Asian adventure.

Fuck people, Korea - Day 3

I’m serious. I’ve lost all fucking faith in everything.

Korea is a festering swamp of smoke, sex, drinking, and cheating. Foreigners come here to escape their problems, but actually bring those problems, temporally hidden, with them, and create new ones in the process. What a fucked up system.

Ok, Day 3, here’s the highlights:

- Got kebabs for breakfast.

- Spent DAYS looking for Red Camera Store with David and Ryan. Turns out the address they have on their website is old, they moved a month ago. It is a toy camera store in the basement of some building. David bought a Holden.

- I was on a mission to buy a jacket. We went to some shopping area where they had H&M and some other places, places where I thought I’d for sure be able to find a jacket. Couldn’t find anything. David bought tons of shit.

- Ate dalk gulbi (chicken fried rice, essentially). Shit was BOOMMB.

- This guy Yoon Ji from my school in Japan spotted me on the street, that was a crazy encounter. Spoke in Japanese with him for a while. He told us to go to Dongdaemun, where he worked at APM, a huge department store; carries mainly Korean brand clothes. Now, that place was the shit. It had tons of awesome stuff. Bought a cheap jacket.

- Came back to home base in Itaewon. A small party was going on. Drank with some new people. Went out  to Gwangam for more drinking. Got really drunk. Went outside the bar for fresh air, ended up getting kidnapped by Koreans, went drinking and eating with them. After, I got lost. Had no one’s number on me to tell them where I was. Returned home around 4a. People got angry at me. I’m sorry, it was not intentional.

- Around 5 or 6a, these two girls come home. The one is drunk, hysterical, crying about her boyfriend, telling people to shut up, saying she’s going to kill herself and/or other people. She verbally assaulted all those who attempted to help.

These were the problems foreigners create for themselves here. This is the Korea I despise. This is the Korea I know.

She sobbed and yelled and threatened for at least two hours, keeping everyone awake (small apartment, everyone crashing in the living room, where she was). The whole thing was a mess. I don’t know how we all got through it.

I don’t have any free time in Korea. All my blog posts are written late at night when everyone else is asleep (while drunk and tired), so that usually means I cut into my sleep in order to do this. I am trying to keep it up. All posts are written the day after, which, unfortunately, changes the story slightly, as my mood changes from moment to moment. On Day 4 (today), I had a really really really pleasant day; for the most part. It wasn’t until around 9p when I started crashing, emotionally and physically. And it just got worse as the night went on. But, that’s another story, for another day. Enjoy these pictures:
