I'm going on a 3-month adventure around Asia. Planned desinations will be (in order)

Korea
Japan
Hong Kong
Thailand stop killing each other, please!

But there are so many other places I may wind up... (hopefully not jail or dead).

I am using this space as a blog, and as a way to dump the dailies I take from my camera (Panasonic GH1 and Samsung TL320). I want those who are interested to get a daily-updated, unfiltered view of my crazy Asian adventure.

Korea - Day 2

Its COOOLLD here. I need a jacket. Like right fucking now.

Woke up around 10, showered, went to Family Mart, and reignited my passion for Asian convenience store food. Shits even cheaper in Korea, too!

Wandered around Apujeung (or thereabouts) for a few hours, completely lost, had no idea what we were doing. David wanted to go to this place, but couldn’t find it. Some nice old Korean lady came up to us gave us directions.

Hah, her English was so bad, but it was so nice of her to try! She sent us off on bus 147, but didn’t tell us where to go after that, so we got lost again and ended up at a Vietnamese restaurant out of starvation.

I ordered the smaller size sampler, but they made a mistake and gave me the big one! In Japan if they make a “mistake” you usually have to pay for it (Marcus and I had that pulled on us multiple times), but here in Korea, they gave me the big one for the smaller price, and apologized. Nice!

In the evening we met up with Marcus, did Capoeira for about two hours, and dancing for another two or three. I passed out on some pads at some point, the jet lag finally crept up on me. Katy met up with us there, I was really happy to see her!

Afterwards, around midnight, we met up with Ryan Blocker, a friend from my hometown! He came up to Seoul from Busan to hang out. We ate some bomb street kebabs and tried to do the drinking/clubbing thing in Itaewon, but I was just tired all night, blah, I’m such a loser.

To be honest, I’ve had some shit on my mind all day. I don’t really wanna talk with too many people about it. I kinda let it ruin my night. We were at a decent club, I felt tons of girls checkin me out, but its Itaewon. They’re all just there to lay foreigners. I wish I were more of slut.

We went to McDonalds around 3a, just across the street from Marcus’ house. The big macs taste like American ones here, but they’re just crafted with more care. Its not like Japan tho. Those things are crafted by hands of Gods.

Bah what a boring post. Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely having a ton of fun in Korea. I just get this way sometimes, where I let shit bother me too much. I know I have evolved a lot over the years, but that one thing about me seems never to change (along with my youthful, handsome good looks)
